Meet Our Scientists: Tony Restaino

Tony Restaino is an MD/PhD student at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. He is completing the PhD portion of his dual degree at Sanford Research, in Dr. Paola Vermeer's laboratory. Tony's project is focused on studying the contributions of sensory nerves to cancer progression. The specific cancer he works on is head and neck cancer and his work will define signals released by nerves within the tumor microenvironment and how they may directly influence the cancer cells to promote tumor growth.
